1 September 2011 Helsinki Music Centre opens.
The oldest professional orchestra in the Nordic countries, the Helsinki Chamber Orchestra, started in its new home. The Orchestra has now been going strong for 129 years.
In addition to the 80-90 concerts organised in Helsinki annually, the orchestra also regularly tours internationally. The first such concert took place in Paris, at the World’s Fair exhibition inthe summer of 1900.
